West Valley Guide is a local publication covering the western San Fernando Valley — Woodland Hills, Canoga Park, West Hills, and Chatsworth. We publish local news, business spotlights, event guides and recaps, and a directory of neighborhood businesses, with more of the West Valley added as coverage expands.

Our mission

Our goal is to be a genuinely useful, locally specific resource — the kind of place you check before a Sunday concert in the park, when a new restaurant opens down the street, or when you're trying to figure out what's actually happening in your neighborhood this weekend. We aim to point readers toward the people, businesses, and events already doing the work of making this stretch of the Valley worth sticking around in.

How we work

West Valley Guide is a small operation. Some of our content — including drafting and research for articles like event guides and business spotlights — is AI-assisted. Every article is reviewed and edited by a human before it's published, and we correct errors when they're brought to our attention. We'd rather be transparent about that process than pretend otherwise.

Official sources (city offices, event organizers, business owners) are cited directly where relevant. If you spot something inaccurate or out of date, please let us know— corrections are one of the submission types we accept.
