Extreme Heat Warning begins Friday morning
NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard has an Extreme Heat Warning in effect for the Western San Fernando Valley (zone CAZ372) from 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, through 8 p.m. Sunday, August 2. The warning, updated at 11:07 p.m. on July 30, describes "dangerously hot conditions with temperatures of 95 to 110 expected" across a large portion of southwest California, including the coastal valleys. Air quality alert for ozone through Sunday
NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard issued an Air Quality Alert at 4:02 p.m. on July 30 relaying a South Coast AQMD alert for harmful levels of ozone (smog) pollution. The alert covers the San Fernando Valley, including zone CAZ372 (Western San Fernando Valley), along with the Santa Clarita Valley, San Gabriel Valley and other inland areas, and remains in effect until 8 p.m. Sunday.
