Heat Advisory in effect through Thursday evening
NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard issued a Heat Advisory at 2:10 a.m. PDT today covering the Western San Fernando Valley (zone CAZ372) along with the Eastern San Fernando Valley, Calabasas and Agoura Hills, the Santa Monica Mountains recreation areas, the LA County inland coast and the San Gabriel Valley. The advisory runs from 10 a.m. this morning until 8 p.m. PDT Thursday, September 10. The NWS forecasts temperatures between 85 and 105 degrees, 10 to 15 degrees above normal, and notes that humid conditions will add to heat discomfort. Heat is expected to peak Wednesday for most areas, and the NWS says there is a chance advisories will be extended into Friday. Stated impacts: hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses. The NWS instruction reads: drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
